The only limit is the one you set yourself

It’s spring! It’s a good time to challenge yourself! 

Have you ever thought that you wanted to try something, but you didn’t have confidence and could not try it? 

If you never tried it, you are not sure if you can do it, but if you will never try it, you are sure you can’t do it. 

There is no limitation for you to try something. The only limit is the one you set yourself. Think about any limitation you are thinking now. 

Do you think you don’ t have enough money? 

Do you think you don’t have enough time? 

Or do you think you don’t have enough knowledge? 


But you have some money, yes, you read this from your computer or your phone.  You have time, 24 hours a day. And you have knowledge, you are reading this, you have the knowledge to read English!

OK, let’s say there is a woman who is trying to lose weight by this summer. But she already tried and failed it many times before. So she thinks she is not able to lose weight based on the assumption. But maybe her own “losing weight program” she tried before was not just the right way for her. Was her own losing weight program too hard for her to continue? If that was the case, she would feel stressful and she will not want to try it again. But that is just an assumption and not the final result she will get. 

Don’t set your limit yourself. Just start any small thing you can do. The key is “start from a small thing you can do right NOW”. 


Write down the answer of the three questions below. 

  1. What is your biggest fear? 
  2. If you don’t have that fear, what would you do? 
  3. What small steps can you do to wash out your fear? Write any small things you can start from NOW. 

Let’s apply these questions to the woman who wants to lose weight. 

Maybe her biggest fear is gaining weight. And if she does not have that fear, she might enjoy eating food more. The small step she can do is to learn about what better food choice she can enjoy eating without fear. Or maybe even smaller, she can sleep earlier before she gets hungry instead of eating late at night. 


Ask yourself first and find a small thing you can do right NOW. And don’t just think, DO IT NOW and continue that small thing regularly and praise yourself after you do it. And tell me your result!
